Define

  1. The Hebrews brought out of captivity in Egypt and any foreigner or sojourner who wants to follow the god of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, YHWH.
  2. The tribes of Jacob's twelve sons (Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Dan, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Joseph, and Benjamin)
  3. Then describes the twelve tribes as Jacob divided them: Reuben, Simeon, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Dan, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Benjamin, Ephraim and Manasseh. Levi's tribe was separated as the Priests.
  4. The house of Israel followed Saul's son Ish-bosheath (Towns of Gilead, Asher, Jezreel, Ephraim, Benjamin) 2 Sam-02. Came under David later 2 Sam-05.
  5. Then after the death of Solomon, referred to the Northern Kingdom, which was made up of ten tribes: Reuben, Simeon, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Manasseh, and Ephraim. They followed Jeroboam, a Servant who rebelled against Solomon. They were captured by Babylonia.
  6. "Northern Tribes of Israel (the country); Northern Tribes ended in mid 700s BC Term “Israelite” faded out became known as ""Lost Sheep"" (Matthew 10).
  7. Eventually, the term "House of Israel" diminishes in reference to the northern kingdom as a distinct entity. The term "Jew," derived from "Judah," becomes more prominent.
